The Planeta family is one of the oldest Sicilian winemaking families now in the seventeenth generation and manages five wineries scattered throughout Sicily and produces wines from many DOC areas. While the current family focuses on innovation and modernity, it never deviates from the historical and traditional interpretation of wine. The history of Etna is dotted with historic eruptions that have shaped its shape. Legendary that of 1614, which lasted 10 years, the longest of all time, stopped right on the border of the Sciaranuova vineyards. A strongly evocative name for our Etna Cru; Carricante with a small addition of Riesling. Black soils at altitude give a fresh, savory and mineral style.

The particular terroir that characterizes these lands, owes its fertility and its mineral wealth, precisely to the proximity of Etna, which thanks to the abundant presence of ash caused by constant eruptions, is rich in skeleton. Known for their complexity and fertility, the soils in which the Planeta vineyards are located are known for the production of high quality wines, characterized by a fresh and mineral style.

Carricante, added with a small balance of riesling, represents one of the highest expressions belonging to the lands of the volcano of Sicily. Fresh, savory and mineral, but at the same time also fruity and wonderfully balanced.
